Super fast PC out of the box. Great design. Also has (2) USB 3.0 ports even though the specs above don't say. Well worth it for the money.

So far this CPU has preformed as it should. It was a replacement for another Gateway that I had for almost 5 years.

I bought a PC with these specs from Best Buy because I wanted to pick it up in store and did so in October of 2012 Now that it is January of 2013, I would like to offer my comments on it. First was I wanted a machine with Windows 7, which if you have read my reviews of stand-alone Windows 7 software you know that I think that while not perfect for everyone, it was perfect for me from the pre-release stage, and Windows 8 Developer Preview wouldn't even download for me, our AT&T internet throttled the connection so intensely it timed out, whereas in 2009 it sat there and let me download Windows 7 Release Candidate 32-bit build 7100, and I had never seen a Windows version that could make me doubt that Macs were better before.
What I go into that story to say is that Windows 7 proved to be so good for me that not even Windows 7 from an original equipment manufacturer (in this case Gateway), with SP1, 64-bit, Internet Explorer 9, and OEM issues running on first-generation Sandy Bridge hardware could dim Windows 7, and that this PC is an excellent choice for someone who doesn't want a Samrt TV, because what do you do when the $300-$500 computer inside your TV fails due to power issues?
This desktop attached to a standard 42-inch 1080p 60Hz Sanyo DP42841 LCD TV gives me Internet browsing using desktop level browsers, and to those who say desktops are unportable and laptops are hardly any more portable, well I couldn't write in this forum what I think of opinions like that.
Windows 7 and this PC (apologies if this product is the successor model with Windows 8) do everything I want a living-room desktop to do, and I KNOW that if I want to buy a separate 1920x1080 monitor for this PC and use it as a standard desktop, I can.
Plus the 16GB maximum RAM capability and 1TB hard drive (since upgraded to 2TB) give me the confidence to know that if I want to store massive amounts of Office deocuments (since I use my PC for creative writing as a hobby) and pictures plus music, this PC allows for that to be possible, giving me the ultimate flexibility in a computer.
It is true that the same could be said about certain Windows 98 and Windows XP computers in the past, but this is 2013, and it takes a new level of computer to do the same tasks going forward.
I will probably update my Time Capsule review next, as that is one awesome router-because I do love sharing my experiences on here with various technological items.
