2Not what I expected
By mjc507
First, the specs were not as advertised. There is not a 500GB SATA hard drive on this computer. The hard drive that is installed is about 360GB. I wasn't able to see how fast (or slow) the computer runs because the computer did not recognise any CD/DVD drive anywhere. There was only a C drive installed so the CD/DVD player was nothing more than a cup holder. Finally, there was no restore disk as the seller advertises (or any other software included). I have tried twice to contact the seller but no response so far.

UPDATE:

The seller contacted me and offered me several options so they do try to work through issues. I was given advice on how to restore hardware and was able to get the CD/DVD player recognised. I also did a disk scan check and since that took all evening I haven't been able to use it yet to see how it performs. I will be fair to the seller if things work out and raise the stars but I think 9 times out of 10 it is just better to buy a new computer.

By does it work
I am writing this on my Mac, as my "new" PC keeps crashing. I took a chance and bought a used desktop to replace my old PC. I wanted to run XP, so that I could easily transfer my old programs from my old computer. I ordered the Dell 390, which arrived 6 days later. When I opened the box and unwrapped the Dell, the first thing I noticed was a gaping hole in the front of it. It was a loose panel that had fallen in to it. Not a good start, but not a biggie. I started it up and it froze, unable to open Windows. The second time I tried, it worked. I checked it out and found it ran SP3, as advertised, but the backup disc that was sent was for SP2. It did have 3GB of ram and a 250GB hard drive. I tried Internet Explorer, no luck, it didn't work. I back-doored my way to the internet, updated Explorer and it worked. Once I update Explorer everything worked fine until it crashed twice.

I pulled out my software and began loading it. Unfortunately I could not load programs such as Photoshop or Call of Duty. Now things are beginning to get pretty bad. I found through trial and error that it would load some programs if I just kept trying, but Photoshop and a couple of the Call of Duty games just would not load. I pulled out my old HP laptop, which is so old that I have taped it together, and found that these programs loaded just fine on it.

Well, with the weekend shot, I guess that I will have to see what kind of service this vendor has.

I previously left a review about some issues i had with my purchase. Almost immediately i was contacted by the owner himself. He has personally taken generous steps to resolve my problem. I feel confident that things are going to work out to my satisfaction. About comp. this is by far the fastest machine I've ever owned. I am looking forward to using machine for years to come.
